Q: Are all floor coatings the same?

A: Absolutely NOT. There are hundreds of different floor coatings and installation methods on the market today. It is very important to choose a product that will last you for many years rather than an inferior product that will not last nearly as long.

Q: What type of flooring system do you use?

A: We have a variety of coating systems and material formulations incorporating Epoxy, Polyurea, Polyaspartic and Urethane. This allows us to address various concrete, temperature and humidity conditions as well as offer different aesthetic attributes in our decorative coatings systems.

Q: How do you prepare the floor before coating it?

A: New or old we prepare the concrete through a mechanical abrasion procedure using diamond grinders. This cleans the top surface and “opens the pores” of the concrete allowing our base coat to penetrate deeply for excellent adhesion. This process is typically considered to be an industry wide best practice for obtaining a consistent surface profile and is superior to the acid etching method used by others in the industry.

Q: My floor is extremely dirty and has oil everywhere. Can an epoxy coating still be put down?

A: Yes, it does not matter if the garage floor is dirty. We have all the necessarily equipment to prep your floor correctly. By the time we are done preparing your floor any type of oil, grease grime dirt will be completely removed before installing your new epoxy floor.

Q: I have some cracks and pitting in my floor, can you repair this condition?

A: Yes. We are experts at repairing any type of damaged concrte. We utilize a quick cure crack /patch filler that doesn’t shrink and sets to a 5,000 psi finish.

Q: How long does the entire process take?

The average two to three car garage takes two to three days. You can return to your garage between 24-36 hours depending on weather conditions.

Q: What do we do with all our garage “stuff” while the work is being done?

It is the homeowner’s responsibility to remove all contents. It is often stored under a tarp in the driveway or in a side yard or patio. As a chargeable option, we can arrange for a portable storage unit to be delivered to your home. We can also make arrangements to empty the garage for you.

Q: What is the warranty on a Deluxe Finish Garage Floor?

Our floor coatings carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty against peeling, flaking and wear.

Q: How should I clean my new floor?

A: Sweep and blow out as you normally would. Simply spray it clean with a garden hose and spray nozzle then use a foam squeegee to remove the excess water. Use Simple Green to loosen any oil drips, tire marks and any other areas that won’t come off with plain water.

Q: How long will my floor last?

A: This will be the last floor you will ever need installed. Depending on the abuse it takes and how you like it to look, you might choose to put a fresh coat of sealer on it years down the road, just as you would hardwood floors.

Q: My home is a brand new build. Do you still need to prep the floors?

A: Yes, weather the floor is brand new or 30 years old the floor still needs prepped to allow proper penetration of the coating into the concrete.

Q: I have a old epoxy coating on my floor now. Can you remove it?

A: Yes we can. To remove an old coating from a floor we use a method known as diamond grinding with special vacuums that trapped 99% of dust before it gets into the air.
